Initial support for severe trauma patients for physicians

This course provides students with the required knowledge and skills for the initial evaluation and treatment of severe trauma patients according to the severe trauma healthcare process and the principles established by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

Training aims

General objectives

  • To improve or acquire the necessary knowledge and skills competencies for the initial evaluation and treatment of severe trauma patients according to the severe trauma healthcare process and principles established by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

Specific objectives

  • To identify life-threatening injuries and intervention priorities.
  • To facilitate the implementation of therapeutic resources in initial trauma life support.
  • To understand the special characteristics in female trauma care and the fundamental principles of paediatric trauma patient care.
