Paediatric and neonatal advanced life support training for physicians

This course is comprised of two stages - the first is conducted online via the IAVANTEonline platform. At this stage it is essential to read in depth the Paediatric Advanced CPR Manual provided, study the individual work assigned in the clinical cases and complete the multiple-choice questionnaire. The second stage is face-to-face training where mannequins and other materials are used to provide students with in-depth training on the various cpr techniques (basic and advanced). Subsequently there is simulated practice through the use of paediatric clinical cases. This training is intended for specialised care doctors, accident and emergency service professionals, and training professionals.

Training aims

General objectives

  • To train in the diagnosis and treatment of paediatric patients with cardiac arrest through the integrated use of cpr manoeuvres.

Specific objectives

  • To identify cardiac arrest in children.
  • To understand basic cpr manoeuvres for neonates and children.
  • To identify choking on a foreign body in both neonates and children and to understand the expulsion manoeuvres.
