Training in transoral robotic surgery

During this course students acquire knowledge and skills in the assembly and functioning of the Da Vinci robot. Students also perform practical exercises for application in minimally invasive surgery and receive specific training in the TORS surgical technique using animal or cadaver models, including the positioning of the robot on the surgical area, structural identification and surgical gestures.

Training aims

General objectives

  • To develop the skills for the transoral approach in otorhinolaryngology (ORL) and maxillofacial surgery (MFS) using robotic systems for safe application on the patient and the enhancement of efficiency in the health system.

Specific objectives

  • To apply the TORS approach to transpalatal pathology.
  • To apply the TORS approach to oropharynx tongue pathology.
  • To apply the TORS approach to laryngeal pathology.
  • To apply the TORS approach to transpharyngeal pathology.
