Ultrasound in obstetrics

In this course the students obtain specific competencies in ultrasound and thus acquire the ability to detect fetal abnormalities and, through the daily practice of this technique, study fetal growth, invasive procedures and fetal therapy. Intended for specialist physicians in obstetrics and gynaecology who require updating in obstetric ultrasound and for specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology training.

General objectives

To acquire knowledge and develop technical skills in fetal ultrasound and updating in obstetrics and fetal medicine.

Specific objectives

To acquire technical skills in ultrasound instrumentation.
To acquire theoretical knowledge of normal and pathological ultrasound in the first trimester.
To acquire knowledge of the 20-week ultrasound.
To understand the theoretical foundations of fetal malformations.
