Da Vinci robotically-assisted general surgery

During this course the student will acquire the knowledge and skills for the installation and functioning of the Da Vinci robot. Training also includes practice in the use of the system applied to laparoscopy and specific training in surgical techniques in the field of digestive surgery, including hepato-biliary and gastro-esophageal pathologies.

Training aims

General objectives

  • To acquire the essential knowledge and skills in the clinical use of the robotically-assisted laparoscopic approach with 3D vision in the field of digestive surgery.

Specific objectives

  • To create an aseptic environment for the robotic system.
  • To master the basic operating mechanisms and train in the essential skills in the surgical control of the system.
  • To apply and master the essential exercises for the surgical application of the robot in laparoscopic surgery in the field of general and digestive surgery.
  • To acquire the professional competencies in efficient care of patients with intervention indications using the Da Vinci robot in the field of digestive surgery.
